It's Never Too Late, Friends

Sounds from TEDx Fayetteville 2025

Hey friends,

This week's episode of I Am Northwest Arkansas® is something truly special—and a little different. I'm coming to you freshly inspired, just hours after stepping off the TEDx Fayetteville stage, where I shared a talk very close to my heart: "It's Never Too Late to Do the Thing You Were Called to Do."

The energy in that room was electric. Stories were shared, connections were made, and I left reminded of something my grandfather, Mal Goode, proved to me (and the world) years ago: your greatest act might still be ahead—no matter your age.

🎙️ This Week's Episode: It's Never Too Late

Episode 330Recreating My TEDx Fayetteville Talk

In This Episode:

  • I recreate my TEDx talk for you, our amazing podcast community, just the way I wish I had delivered it on that big red dot.

  • We dive into real-life stories—from my grandfather Mal Goode's trailblazing journey as ABC News's first Black network correspondent at age 54 to the likes of Diana Nyad, Colonel Sanders, Nelson Mandela, Grandma Moses, and so many more who redefined what's possible at any age.

  • We bust the myth that breakthroughs "belong to the young," with data and personal experience that show reinvention is always in reach.

  • And I share some behind-the-scenes reflections on what it's like to transition from podcast mic to TEDx stage—yes, nerves and all!

A Quick Countdown for YOU:

  1. Reflect on the dreams you've put aside ("someday I'll…")

  2. Reframe your perspective (your wrinkles are your credentials!)

  3. Reignite your passion by taking a micro-step this week

No matter where you are on your journey—starting over, facing change, or simply itching for something new—remember: your calling doesn't expire. Your best work might still be ahead.
